Cherokee Heritage Center Completes Final Renovation; Facility Now Fully Open To Guests

Restorations are now twice as nice as the Cherokee Nation’s Cultural Tourism Department today announced the completion of its second and final renovation to the Cherokee Heritage Center, which is located at 21192 S. Keeler, Park Hill, bringing its $280,000 overall project to completion.

The Legislative Branch consists of the 15-member Tribal Council elected to represent nine districts of the Cherokee Nation. The Tribal Council initiates legislation and conducts other business which will further the interests of the Cherokee Nation and its membership. The other business which will further the interests of the Cherokee Nation and its membership. The Deputy Chief presides over the Council as its president. Tribal Council terms are four years.

According to the Land Patent, issued to the Cherokee Nation by the United States, the Cherokee Nation was to hold such lands fee simple'. The language used is, 'The United States cedes to the Cherokee. . . .' The United States never gave the Cherokee, nation or individuals, land.
