Joe is a life-long resident of Adair County, Oklahoma and currently resides in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He is married to his wife of 34 years, Lynda and has two daughters, Paula Unger and Christy Stopp and one son, Gilbert and his wife Berthal. He also has two grandsons, Caden and Ty Unger.
Joe graduated from Stilwell High School in 1962. He graduated from Northeastern State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Accounting.
He has been employed with the U.S. Postal Service for well over 25 years, and for the past 17 years, has been the Postmaster for the Stilwell Post Office. He also is a Certified Trainer/Facilitator for the U.S. Postal Service.
Joe is veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1964 through 1967, including active duty in Vietnam. He has served on various boards and commissions, and is an active member of Kiwanis, Chamber of Commerce, Mid County Fire Department and member of Baron Baptist Church.
