Stickball Rules

1. No foul language of any kind.
2. 5 second time limit on holding ball. (Try to score or pass the ball as soon as you can.)
3. Anyone becoming upset or losing their temper will be pulled from the game.
4. A two-warning rule is enforced. (1st warning-verbal, 2nd warning-removed from game.)
5. NO intentional tripping with or without ballsticks.
6. Do not intentionally hit or swing ballsticks at anyone.
7. Do not poke anyone with ends of ballsticks.
8. No intentional shoving, pushing or hitting with hands.
9. If a girl falls while running with the ball, you must let her up, but she must throw the ball to the middle of the playing field.
10. The girls can hold on to sticks to take the ball away.
11. The girls can take the ballsticks away from the boys, but DON’T throw them. Ballsticks must be dropped as soon as possible.
12. Be a team, play together, and HAVE FUN!!!
The game is always played boys vs girls....schools have found it is best to have two games. The first being School A girls vs School B boys, and the second School A boys vs School B girls.
Scoring should be discussed with the school you are playing, to agree on the score you are playing to, and how the scoring is done. Generally, the score for hitting the fish is 7, and hitting the pole below the fish and above a marked line is 3.
