TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Sequoyah Schools drama department has announced the cast for the spring production of “The Wizard of Oz.”

“It was such a thrill to have so many Sequoyah students audition for ‘The Wizard of Oz,’” said Amanda Ray, Sequoyah Schools’ drama teacher.  “This is by far the biggest production we’ve tackled so far and it was such an encouragement to have forty students auditioning.”

The audition process was around four hours long, and consisted of singing, dancing and reading sections from the script.

“It was a long night full of nerves and jitters, but also a great experience for me as a drama instructor to get to know more of Sequoyah’s students and to meet some extremely talented performers,” Ray said.
