GENERAL LENDING ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
- Individual loan program specific requirements will be listed in the loan program descriptions following the general guidelines.
- Applications must be completed in full and signed. All boxes must be completed and all debts must be listed. Debts may include rent, finance companies, car payments, credit cards, charge account, etc.
- Applicants must submit a completed Employment Verification form. These forms are to be completed by the applicant’s employer. If applicant is not employed or self-employed, income verification must be submitted in the form of tax returns or check copies..
- Applicants must submit written explanation of the loan request and a copy of their Certificate Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB).
- Loans will not be approved for applicants with delinquent Federal debt.
- All applications will be reviewed to determine the applicant’s willingness to repay their debts, ability to repay their debts, and adequate collateral.
- Willingness to repay debts is determined by the applicant’s credit history (this includes credit bureau reports and other credit references supplied by the applicant).
- Ability to repay debts is determined by the applicant’s debt to income ratio (this is calculated by taking the applicant’s total monthly debts and dividing it by the total monthly income). Acceptable debt ratios are based on the applicant’s income.
- Adequate collateral varies with each loan program. Generally unsecured loan requests and requests offering household goods as collateral are not acceptable.
- The Credit Committee meets weekly to review loan requests less than $7,500. Applications must be submitted by Monday at Noon to receive an answer by Thursday of that week. Applications received after Monday at Noon, will be reviewed the following week.
