The following pages are representative of the various programs operating in the clinical service sites of the Cherokee Nation Health Service. A description, brief history, and summation of program's purpose is presented.

Available through any Indian health care facility in the Oklahoma Area of the US/PHS Indian Health Service (IHS) are funded from a specific IHS budget pool outside of facility operations.

Over 30 years of providing nutrition education,breastfeeding support and nutritious foods to our Women, Infants, and Children!

WIC is a federally-funded health and nutrition program for women, infants and children. WIC helps families by providing an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card, known as the eWIC card, for buying healthy foods from WIC-authorized grocery stores.

WIC also provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals for healthcare and other community services. Participants must meet income guidelines. WIC serves women who are pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding; infants, and children under the age of 5.

In the Cherokee Nation, the WIC clinics are located within the 14 county tribal jurisdictional boundaries and provide services to more than 7,300 women, infants, and children each month.

Wings is a self-paced program to promote exercise, recreation, education, and nutrition for a healthier lifestyle.
Cherokee Health Information Network (CHIN) has been developed to provide Cherokee Citizens with needed health care information.
The mission of the Cherokee Nation Diabetes Program is to prevent diabetes and its complications through “Ga du gi”, working together, to empower individuals with diabetes, their families, and communities.
